Outreach/Missions
The members of the Missions Department meet regularly to initiate and maintain programs of assistance within the capacity of the Church to provide. They consider the needs of people in the community, the State, the nation, and the world at large and determine opportunities for the Church to help meet these needs, using funds allotted for missions by the annual CCMP budget.
This year we have already supported the following:
Internationally:
- THUSO School for Disabled Children, Lesotho Africa, $600 for teacher's salary.
- A year's sponsorship of a child in Los Ciementos, Guatemala through Christian Foundation for Children & Aging: $250
- Asian Rural Institute, an international training institute for grassroots rural leaders from developing countries, mostly in Asia and Africa, for sustainable food production in organic agriculture: $300
Locally:
- I-HELP: $100/month ($1,200/year)
- St Mary's Food Bank: $100/month ($1,200/year)
The rest of our missions funds will be spent locally as we see needs arising in our own community.
